The Role

SurveyMonkey is searching for an exceptional Senior Technical Program Manager to drive cross functional programs and help teams continuously improve the velocity, quality, and satisfaction of their work. You have solid communication skills, be empathic while balancing being a task-master with driving consensus.  Must be action-oriented, capable of working on concurrent complex projects, and able to communicate clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams and business audiences. This position requires a technology background, experience with project management methodology, possess excellent communication skills, and experience in working with executive leadership teams.



  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of cross-functional initiatives; working with multiple delivery teams
  • Develop and manage roadmaps and resource plans with senior management team
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Prepare and present program and project status: report on key achievements, set up clear and concise reporting dashboards to be shared with key stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Develop and maintain communications process and ensure internal business partners are well informed
  • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters transparency, autonomy, innovation, and learning
  • Comfortable with balancing the tactical and strategic
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering, product, security, IT, and support teams ensuring programs remain aligned with business priorities and outcome
  • Assess operational processes to identify potential areas of conflict, and develop options to solve/improve; Drive on-going process improvements to optimize execution and efficiency
  • Mentor others in best practices for planning and execution; maintain high standards of communication and consistency
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and presentations when required (Jira, Google Slides, etc.)


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+  years of technical project management experience of large scale cross-functional programs for SaaS based products;
  • Experience managing engineering and infrastructure based programs or projects  
  • Advanced understanding of software development lifecycle; with ability to adjust using agile methodologies
  • Practical experience program managing Software as a Service products and cloud-based services
  • Strong knowledge in cloud technologies and DevOps practices
  • Experience with ISO, SOX, PCI, HIPPA
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to translate business objectives into supporting system requirements
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Self-directed, detail oriented problem solver;  will own issues until resolved
  • Ability to define and refine the process while keeping things light and adaptable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally across the organization; communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Strong software engineering technical background with a passion for delivering high quality and high performance products
  • Ability to influence peers and managers while dealing with ambiguity


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in planning and reporting tools:  Atlassian (jira, portfolio align); trello; Aha
  • Exceptional understanding of Network and Service performance and availability; previous experience supporting Infrastructure, Devops, or cloud operations
  • AGILE Scrum certification
