METU SOS INFLATION RESEARCH PROJECT CONSUMPTION FREQUENCY MEASUREMENT SURVEY

METU SOS Inflation Research Project aims to calculate the inflation of food businesses on METU campus regularly every academic year with the index named MEPI (METU Price Index) and to interpret the results and share them with the public as an article. This is the third year of our project, and in the previous years, METU inflation was calculated as 45.82% for the 2022-2023 academic year and 38.52% for the 2023-2024 academic year. These results were compared and interpreted with MEPI, TUFE and other indexes from several aspects and published as an article in the Journal of İktisat ve Toplum in December 2023 and 2024.
We have also started our work this year to calculate the annual inflation between October 2024 and May 2025. The survey below aims to determine the businesses and product categories that students prefer on campus. You can support our research by filling out our survey and to follow the results, you can access the articles we publish on ResearchGate, Academia and Google Scholar and follow METU SOS.
